Goalkeeper Frank Fielding says England's final Group B game against the Czech Republic on Sunday is effectively "a quarter-final for us" with the winners certain to advance to the last four.

Fielding was called into action on numerous occasions in last night's 0-0 stalemate with Ukraine, none more important than in the 82nd minute when he narrowed the angle and kept out Denys Garmash's shot with his legs. "Ukraine are a very, very strong team," the Derby County FC player said. "It was a very different game to the Spanish one but they gave us a tough challenge. They had their chances and we had our chances, none of us put them away so we'll have to score on Sunday now."

England have scored only once in their two matches, although they have conceded just one too, a set piece in the opening draw with Spain. "Defensively we've been spot on, the lads worked their socks off again tonight and it's a quick turnaround again on Sunday. This team never has anything easy and we're looking forward to Sunday's game now."

The Czech Republic lost 2-0 to Spain in Wednesday's early fixture, yet remain above England in the table courtesy of their opening 2-1 win over Ukraine – meaning Stuart Pearce's team need maximum points to reach a third successive semi-final. "It's like a quarter-final for us now," continued Fielding, 23. "They only need a point to go up and we need a win, so it's going to be a great game." Viborg awaits.
