Spain coach Luis Milla praised his side for picking up where they had left off against England with another dominant performance in the 2-0 Group B victory over the Czech Republic. For Milla, the difference between drawing at the weekend and winning today was the greater number of chances created. When the second of Adrián's goals went in two minutes after half-time, it was the signal for Czech coach Jakub Dovalil to recognise it was not his team's day.
Jakub Dovalil, Czech Republic coach
Spain are a much better team than Ukraine. We tried to start off on the front foot but Spain showed what a good technical team they are. We conceded both goals at critical moments, particularly the one at the start of the second half. Two-nil against Spain is then a very difficult scoreline to claw back.
We were in a good position after the first match and we did try to attack Spain and get a foothold in midfield. They were stronger although we had chances with Tomáš Pekhart at the end of the first half and Ondřej Čelůstka at the end of the second from a corner. We didn't keep the ball well enough up front during the opening period.
The last game will be very hard for us because England are physically strong and have many players who play regularly in the Premier League. It's open. Our fate is still in our hands because we have three points. We can still reach the semi-finals if we win against England.
Luis Milla, Spain coach
We carried on where we left off against England. We again struggled to get the second goal, which resulted in us only getting the draw at the weekend. But today we can be satisfied because as well as our general play we also created plenty of opportunities and got the goals we needed.
Spanish football is producing technical players and it is from this coaching base, including at the federation, that we are bringing up technical players who can keep possession really well. We always give priority to the group and the team so I don't want to single individual players out after a game like today. I thought we performed really well as a team and I will keep talking about the team.
We have a side full of good players and the job here is to convince them to show their qualities for the benefit of the team and to have a winning mentality. We need to maintain that spirit through the tournament. We want to enjoy this victory, which is an important one in the context of the group, and then we'll start working towards the Ukraine game.
