Denmark coach Keld Bordinggaard has drafted Frederik Sørensen into his squad as an 11th-hour replacement for the injured Søren Frederiksen.
Bordinggaard chose to respond to the loss of striker Frederiksen by strengthening his defensive options with Sørensen, a player who is uncapped at Under-21 level but is fresh from a successful season on loan at Juventus.
The 19-year-old, a former Danish youth international, made 17 Serie A appearances for the Turin club in the second half of 2010/11 after joining from Lyngby BK with a view to a permanent switch. His inclusion follows the misfortune of Frederiksen, the SønderjyskE striker who injured his knee in training on Sunday. A scan the following day confirmed he had suffered a tear in his anterior cruciate ligament.
