West Ham United FC centre-back James Tomkins has replaced the injured Micah Richards in England's squad for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
Manchester City FC defender Richards withdrew from the squad on Thursday because of a hamstring injury. Tomkins was an unused substitute when England lost the 2009 final to Germany, having made two appearances in the group stage.
