Wunder Card has joined this summer's UEFA European Under-21 Championship in Denmark as a national sponsor. The final tournament will be staged in Aalborg, Aarhus, Herning and Viborg from 11 to 25 June.
The youth card, which is available to people between the ages of 16 and 25 as well as full-time students, offers up to 50% discount on train travel in Denmark, and up to 25% discount on rail travel to most parts of Europe. In its role as a national sponsor of the U21 final round, Wunder Card will significantly promote the tournament.
"UEFA is glad to welcome Wunder Card on board as a national sponsor of the U21 tournament," said David Taylor, CEO of UEFA Events SA. "Preparations for the final tournament are now well under way and the addition of Wunder Card will provide additional exposure and support for the delivery of a top-class event in Denmark this summer."
Wunder Card marketing director Anders Iversen added: "Wunder Card is very pleased to participate and support the UEFA European Under-21 Championship in Denmark and we are proud that UEFA has chosen us as a partner. We look forward to participating in the biggest sporting event in Denmark this year."
Preparations for the finals have been ongoing since December 2008 when Denmark was announced as host – and with Wunder Card on board, another piece of the jigsaw has fallen into place. The major Danish broadcaster TV 2 was named last July as UEFA's broadcast partner for the final round in the host country.
Wunder Card becomes the fifth national sponsor for the U21 tournament, following agreements with Intersport, Ekstra Bladet, Radio 100 and Arriva.
