Hosts Denmark, the Czech Republic, Spain and Iceland will be seeded at the 9 November draw in Aalborg for next summer's 2011 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
Denmark are seeded as hosts, while the Czech Republic, Spain and Iceland have achieved that status as the three teams with the best coefficients based on qualifying results. Group 5 winners the Czech Republic were the only side to come through qualifying undefeated.
Despite finishing six points behind them as runners-up in that section, Iceland are rewarded for a terrific campaign in which they relegated holders Germany to third, while Spain dropped just five points in finishing second to the Netherlands – defeated by Ukraine in this week's play-offs – in Group 4.
The 2009 beaten finalists England as well as Switzerland, Belarus and Ukraine are the four non-seeded teams. The draw, which will split the eight finalists into two groups of four, will take place at the Aalborghallen, in Aalborg, Denmark, from 15.00CET on 9 November. The final tournament will be held in Aarhus, Herning, Aalborg and Viborg between 11 and 25 June 2011.
