Kaspars Dubra's goal proved decisive as Latvia beat ten-man Andorra 1-0 to record their fourth win of UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying.
Both teams were already well off the pace set by Group 1 pacesetters Romania and Russia prior to kick-off and Andorra have now completed their fixtures and finish bottom of the section with just a point to their name.
Justo Ruiz González's side fell behind after just 14 minutes when Dubra headed in a Romans Bespalovs corner which came after Oriol Oliva had denied Daniils Turkovs. Turkovs missed another chance soon after but Andorra had opportunities of their own, Emili Garcia going particularly close with a header. Any hopes of a comeback were extinguished eight minutes from time, however, when Garcia was dismissed. Latvia host Moldova on Tuesday.
