In a change to the initial schedule for the 2011 UEFA European Under-21 Championship final tournament, the eight-team event will begin a day earlier, kicking off on Saturday 11 June with the final to be played a fortnight later on 25 June.
Denmark are hosting the tournament in four venues – Aarhus, Herning, Aalborg and Viborg. The qualifying competition is currently nearing the end of the group stage, from which the ten group winners and four best runners-up will meet in the play-offs to determine which seven teams join hosts Denmark in the final tournament.
The group stage concludes in September, with the play-offs to follow between 9 and 13 October. The play-off draw takes place in Herning on 10 September with the final tournament draw in Aalborg on 9 November.
