Alexandru Dedov scored twice as Moldova climbed above the Faroe Islands and Latvia into third in UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying Group 1 with a 3-1 victory away to Andorra on Wednesday.
Andorra were looking for their first win in the section, but their hopes were dashed early on when Moldova captain Artur Patraş struck after ten minutes with a superb free-kick. Dedov added his first of the afternoon just a minute later before making the points safe with his second and Moldova's third goal in added time at the end of the first half.
Substitute Xavier Vieira pulled one back for Andorra with his first touch of the game on 62 minutes when he headed in Cristian Martínez's cross, but the hosts were unable to pressure Moldova thereafter.
