Goals in each half from Revaz Barabadze and Jano Ananidze ensured Georgia picked up their second win in UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying Group 2, 2-0 against Estonia in Tbilisi.
Estonia came into the game four points clear of their hosts and having beaten Georgia by the same scoreline in September. This time, though, Otar Gabelia's side would have the upper hand thanks to Barabadze who headed in Irakli Klimiashvili's cross a minute before the break.
Ananidze hit the bar with a free-kick and Barabadze had another header cleared off the line before the result was finally put beyond doubt deep into added time when Ananidze back-heeled Giorgi Ivanishvili's pass into the net.
Victory takes Georgia to within a point of third-placed Estonia whose hopes of securing one of the four best runners-up spots were dealt a severe blow. Switzerland lead the section on 16 points with Turkey six adrift in second but with a game in hand. Estonia are a point further behind and return to action in May at home to Armenia and Turkey before Georgia welcome Switzerland.
