Turkey and Estonia failed to keep the pressure on at the Group 2 summit as a goalless draw in Rize served only to strengthen leaders Switzerland's advantage.
Saag openings
Just one point separated Turkey and Estonia going into Wednesday's match and there was similarly little to choose between them at the Rize Atatürk Stadium. Despite picking up five points from their last four 2011 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifiers it was the visitors who made much of the running, Kaimar Saag going close inside two minutes. The Silkeborg IF striker wasted another presentable opportunity just before the interval, and when goalkeeper Cenk Gönen kept out Artjom Artjunin's blistering free-kick five minutes from time a draw was inevitable.
