Switzerland struck four times in the first half to beat Estonia 4-1 and replace the Baltic side at the top of Group 2.
Revenge
The defeat was Estonia's first in the section and brought their bright start to qualifying for the 2011 UEFA European Under-21 Championship to an abrupt halt. Estonia had begun the campaign with a 1-0 win in Switzerland, but despite taking the lead in Tallinn through Sergei Zenjov on seven minutes, they could not replicate that success. The goal came against the run of play and Switzerland were not behind for long – four first-half efforts putting the result beyond doubt before the break.
Goal flurry
Stung into action, Alessandro Ciarocchi drew the visitors level three minutes after they had fallen behind when he burst clear of the Estonia defence, before three goals in six minutes blew the game out of the hosts' reach. Mario Gavranovic put Switzerland in front in the 21st minute and further strikes from Frank Feltscher (23) and Philippe Koch (26) ensured their third victory from four matches in the section. They top Group 2 with Estonia two points back and Turkey in third a further point adrift but with a game in hand.
