Judge goal
Ireland's opening two matches had yielded just a point after they followed up an opening 3-0 loss to Turkey with a draw in Estonia. Things were looking up when Alan Judge opened the scoring in the 28th minute, and though Don Givens' side held out for over an hour, they suffered a late blow as Ivanishvili struck for the visitors.
Switzerland next
Ireland next meet section leaders Switzerland in Waterford on Tuesday, while Georgia – fourth with four points from four games – are not in action until they host the return fixture on 14 November in Tbilisi.
