Romania took control of UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying Group 1 with a 2-0 away win over Andorra, earning Emil Sadoi's side their third victory in as many games.
Group leaders
Romania secured an opening-day triumph over Andorra when the two sides met in Arad in March and they followed that up with a 4-0 triumph over the Faroe Islands. The team's latest victory at the Estadi Comunal came courtesy of goals in each half from Marius Gaman and Gabriel Torje.
Bright start
The visitors hit the front early on with Gaman holding his nerve to slot home a penalty in the eighth minute. Constantin Gangioveanu then had two opportunities to double his side's advantage, first with an effort that was cleared off the line nine minutes before the break and next with a shot from distance that hit the crossbar.
Second goal
On 64 minutes Romania finally managed to forge further ahead when FC Dinamo 1948 Bucureşti midfielder Torje beat Andorra goalkeeper Oriol Oliva with shot that squeezed in at the near post. Romania have scored eight goals without reply in their three games and will look to keep their perfect qualifying start going when they host Moldova on 8 September in Craiova.
