Germany have received a boost ahead of their 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Championship final against England on Monday with the news that captain Sami Khedira and Marko Marin will be fit to play.

Good news
Midfielder Khedira missed the semi-final victory over Italy after badly bruising his right knee in his side's concluding Group B game against England. Left-winger Marin, meanwhile, had to be substituted in the 54th minute of Friday's semi-final after taking a knock to his foot. "It looks really good for Sami," coach Horst Hrubesch said on Saturday. "He will be able to train today. And in Marko's case, it doesn't seem to be anything important."

Suspensions
Hrubesch, however, will have to do without Ashkan Dejagah in Malmo – the centre-forward is suspended after picking up his second booking of the tournament against Italy. "He will have to live with it and help us win the title from the stands," Hrubesch continued. For England, strikers Fraizer Campbell and Gabriel Agbonlahor, and goalkeeper Joe Hart are all banned. Hrubesch added that his players' celebrations were short-lived on Friday night as attentions quickly turned towards England. "It wasn't too hard to restrain the players," he said. "They all know we haven't achieved anything yet. We had another chat and the last one was in bed by 2am."
