Spain's Sisi laid low with virus

RC Recreativo de Huelva are set to be without Spain Under-21 midfielder Sisi for at least the next six weeks after the 22-year-old was diagnosed with hepatitis A, an acute infectious disease of the liver.

Sisi, who has played in 18 Liga games for Recreativo this season, will undergo further tests at his club in the coming days to fully assess his condition. Sisi's added-time goal on 14 October helped Spain take their play-off tie against Switzerland into extra time, with Raúl García then scoring to carry them to this summer's UEFA European Under-21 Championship in Sweden in June. Sisi is not the first U21 international to contract hepatitis A this year. Germany's Ashkan Dejagah was diagnosed with the same condition in early February and his club – VfL Wolfsburg – are resigned to losing him for a "very long time".
