Berat Sadik is the only major absentee from coach Markku Kanerva's Finland squad as they prepare to play off against Austria for a place at the finals of the UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
No injuries
The DSC Arminia Bielefeld striker has been called up to the senior squad for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Azerbaijan and Russia and will be replaced by FC International Turku forward Timo Furuholm, who has returned to fitness. With no injury worries ahead of the ties in Pasching on 10 October and in Turku four days later, Kanerva is able to keep faith with the majority of the players who helped Finland top qualifying Group 6.
Austria organised
"Austria have a well-organised defence and they play a good passing game," Kanerva said. "That shows the team have been together a long time, and playing 13 games in a row without defeat says a lot about their quality. There are not many changes in our squad. Perparim Hetemaj is match-fit again while Berat Sadik was called up to the senior squad and Timo Furuholm replaces him. Otherwise the squad is as it was in the last group matches."
