A pair of second-half goals from Aydın Karabulut took Turkey past the Czech Republic and to the top of Group 2 with one match to play after victory in Bursa.
Aydin double
Aydin struck on 63 and 85 minutes to seal a crucial victory for coach Hami Mandıralı's side who will now confirm their place in the play-offs should they draw with Armenia on Tuesday. They lead the section by a point from the Czech Republic who must win at home against Ukraine in their final match and hope Turkey slip up if they are to top the section.
'A 12th man'
"My players showed everyone how flawless football is played," boasted Mandıralı. "The fans in the stadium were like a 12th man on the pitch and played a key role in this win, firing up the U21 national team with their support. I congratulate my players. This was a very important win. They have the quality to do even better."
