O'Cearuill miss
Watford FC midfielder O'Toole struck deep into added-time, applying a firm header to Eddie Nolan's right-wing cross to seal a 1-0 victory in Athlone. It was little more than Don Givens' side deserved having dominated large swathes of the encounter and Joe O'Cearuill, in particular, was guilty of a terrible miss late on in the first period. Irish goalkeeper Darren Quigley was called into action more after the restart, twice denying Vladimir Gadjev before O'Toole's dramatic late intervention.
