Armenia kept their slender UEFA European Under-21 Championship play-off hopes alive with a comprehensive 4-1 victory that cemented Liechtenstein's standing at the foot of Group 2.
Late consolation
Samvel Petrosyan's side needed a late goal to scrape a win in the reverse fixture in May but made much lighter work of their opponents in Eschen. Gevorg Nranyan (13) and Artak Andrikyan (25) set them on course and the outclassed hosts were facing a rout when Henrik Mkhitaryan and Hayk Chilingaryan struck to make it 4-0 by the hour. Liechtenstein recovered sufficiently for Martin Büchel to grab a consolation 20 minutes from time, though they remain bottom of the section without a point. Armenia must win their remaining two games against Turkey and hope other results go their way.
