Article body
Denmark continued their rise up the Group 6 table by following up a creditable draw in Scotland with their first win on the road in Slovenia.
Scandinavian woes
Both sides began this 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifier with four points from their three games after another Scandinavian side, Finland, had claimed a one-goal win over Slovenia last weekend. This time it was Denmark's turn to inflict a loss on them in Domzale despite the home side taking a fifth-minute lead when Anej Lovrencic scored from a penalty kick. However, that setback only served to strengthen the visitors and Magnus Troest drew them level before half-time.
Double strike
Denmark's dominance reaped further rewards after the interval when Martin Christensen scored on 63 minutes to make it 2-1 before team-mate Nicklas Pedersen added the clinching third goal just three minutes later. The win takes Denmark to within two points of Finland with the group leaders in action in Lithuania on Wednesday.
