Petropoulos ignites Greece charge

Greece moved level with Croatia and Italy atop Group 1, winning 2-0 against the Faroe Islands in Toftir as Antonis Petropoulos continued his fine start to UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying.

Egaleo FC forward Petropoulos claimed his third goal of the campaign when he broke the deadlock midway through the first half, to set Stilianos Aposporis's team on course for a third victory in four Group 1 outings. Defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos doubled the advantage five minutes before half-time and the Faroese could not muster a response as they slumped to a fourth consecutive defeat.
