England enjoyed a comfortable win against Bulgaria at the Bulgarska Armia stadium in Sofia to keep up their impressive 100 per cent record in qualifying for the 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. Stuart Pearce's side are yet to concede in the two Group 3 games they have played so far.

London stars
The combative midfield displays of London-based pair Tom Huddlestone and Mark Noble, and England's superior ability to adapt to the difficult playing conditions, saw the visitors control proceedings. Tottenham Hotspur FC's Huddlestone gave England the lead after 23 minutes when he received a pass from James Milner and unleashed a powerful 20-metre shot that took a slight deflection, giving Bulgaria goalkeeper Nikolay Mihaylov no chance. The advantage was doubled nine minutes later thanks to an excellent Noble effort.

Chances plentiful
The West Ham United FC man broke through the heart of the hosts' defence, following a quick combination between Matt Derbyshire and Gabriel Agbonlahor, and finished neatly. Bulgaria responded with two efforts from PFC Levski Sofia striker Valeri Domovchiyski that flew wide, but England continued to dominate with Milner, Agbonlahor, Huddlestone and substitute Luke Moore all going close. England are level with Portugal on six points at the top of Group 3 while Bulgaria have yet to pick up anything from their two matches.
