Article body
Denmark made amends for the defeat by Finland in their opening Group 6 qualifier with an emphatic 4-0 victory against Lithuania in Aalborg.
Hosts in charge
The home side were in control from the start and took the lead on just before the half-hour through Bo Storm's excellent 25-metre strike. Michael Jakobsen soon headed in from a corner to double the lead and although Lithuania mustered a couple of efforts on Kasper Schmeichel's goal after the interval, Denmark confirmed their superiority with two late strikes. Jonas Damborg made it 3-0 five minutes from time before substitute Martin Christensen rounded off the scoring just before the final whistle. Lithuania have four days to recover ahead of their meeting at home to Slovenia while Denmark are away to Scotland a day later.
