The FC Nantes Atlantique midfielder found the target midway through the first half in Pau in a game that France controlled without converting their chances. "There was a lack of inspiration due to the hard physical work we did this week," admitted coach René Girard.
Mass substitutions
Girard gave most of his squad a run out in the game with only captain Antonio Mavuba, left-back Jérémy Berthod, left-sided midfielder Yoann Gourcuff and striker Anthony Le Tallec playing the full game. They start their finals campaign against hosts Portugal on 23 May.
