Mission accomplished in Kaunas

Lithuania 0-2 Serbia and Montenegro Danko Lazović and Nenad Milijas were both on target as the visitors closed in on a play-off place.

Serbia and Montenegro maintained the pressure on their Group 7 rivals with a 2-0 win against Lithuania in their penultimate UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifier in Kaunas.

Strong position
With their main rivals for a top-two finish and a place in the play-offs, Belgium and Spain, playing each other elsewhere tonight, a win against Lithuania ensured that should Serbia and Montenegro win their final qualifier at home against Bosnia-Herzegovina on Tuesday, they will progress to the play-offs.

Lazević goal
Danko Lazović gave the visitors the lead after 37 minutes, and with legs tiring, Nenad Milijas scored a second two minutes from time to ensure that Serbia and Montenegro will go into their final qualifier at the Vojvodina stadium in Novi Sad occupying one of the top positions in their group.
