Article body
Mikael Dahlberg's goal on ten minutes was enough for visitors Sweden to defeat Hungary and move to outright second place in UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying Group 8.
Sweden ahead
The striker beat Márton Fülöp after a quick and clever counterattack with a fine shot from eleven metres. Although Antal Róth's Hungarians slightly edged the game they were only able to create two great chances. Zoltán Takács hit the bar immediately after the Swedish goal and Róbert Feczesin was not able to find a way past the visiting goalkeeper early in the second half.
Three-point gap
Although the referee Claudio Circhetta gave a second yellow card to Sebastian Larsson in the 76th minute, the visitors held out and are three points clear of Hungary and the same distance behind leaders Croatia with two games left. Sweden visit Croatia on 7 October, when Hungary go to Bulgaria, a match they will probably need to win.
