Hungary picked up the second victory of their UEFA European Under-21 Championship Group 8 qualifying campaign as they ran out comfortable 2-0 winners against Malta in Gozo.
Vadócz strikes
In high winds, Hungary dominated the early stages and went ahead on 30 minutes when Krisztián Vadócz completed a fine passing move by driving past Reuben Gauci in the Malta goal. Hungary doubled their advantage three minutes before the break when Tibor Tisza pounced on Shaun Bajada's miskick before beating Gauci.
Hungary hold on
With the wind behind their backs, Malta pressed in the second half, but could not find a way back into the match as Hungary held on for a victory which lifts them off the bottom of the table - Malta taking their place. Hungary are next in action at home to Bulgaria on 29 March, while Malta travel to Croatia the following day.
