Article body
A solitary Kuqi Njazi goal gave Finland a precious victory in their UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifier against Armenia in Yerevan on Wednesday.
Near miss
Njazi headed in Heikki Aho's 52nd-minute cross but although his team enjoyed the lion's share of possession, they failed to add to their tally. Tigran Davtyan almost grabbed a share of the spoils for the home side but narrowly failed to direct his close-range header on target.
Finns third
The win lifted Finland into third place in Group 1, three points behind leaders Romania, who defeated the Finns 1-0 in the opening game last month. Armenia, who are yet to score in this campaign, remain bottom of the table.
