Article body
The former Slovakia coach Ladislav Jurkemik has taken charge of the country's Under-21 side, replacing Mikuláš Komanický.
Impressive spell
Jurkemik was appointed coach of the senior Slovakia side in December 2001 having impressed Slovak Football Association (SFS) officials during his time in charge of MŠK Zilina. However, the 50-year-old Czech lost his job late last year after Slovakia finished behind England and Turkey in qualifying for UEFA EURO 2004™.
Assistant's role
Komanický is expected to accept an offer to work alongside Jurkemik as assistant coach. In the meantime he has already agreed to take charge of second division FC Tatran Prešov.
