When was the draw?
The final tournament draw for the 2021 UEFA European Under-21 Championship in Hungary and Slovenia, the first to contain 16 teams, was staged at 15:00 CET on Thursday 10 December in Nyon, Switzerland. The draw was streamed live on UEFA.com and and on UEFA.tv.
Who was in the draw?
The nine qualifying group winners and five best runners-up joined co-hosts Hungary and Slovenia in the draw.

The 16 teams were divided into four pots according to their position in the UEFA Under-21 National Team Coefficient Rankings.

How did the draw work?
The draw determined each team's group and position within the group (for fixture purposes). Co-hosts Hungary (Group A, position 1) and Slovenia (Group B1) were already assigned.
The draw started with Pot 4, with a team drawn and assigned to the first available group (in alphabetical order). A ball was then drawn from the relevant bowl to determine the position within the group.
The same procedure was followed for the remaining team in Pot 4, then Pots 3, 2 and 1 in that order.
How does the tournament work?
The 2021 U21 EURO, co-hosted by Hungary and Slovenia, has a unique format and schedule, with the group stage and knockout stage held separately. The group stage takes place from 24 to 31 March 2021, with the group winners and runners-up advancing to the eight-team knockout phase from 31 May to 6 June 2021.
