Denmark and Austria sailed through UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualifying round Group 12 without conceding a goal to hold off the challenge of Albania and Malta.
Although the Danes ultimately came out on top it was mini-tournament hosts Austria who made the more eye-catching start, defeating Malta 3-0 in their opening fixture. Denmark began with a 1-0 victory against Albania thanks to Nicolaj Beier Kohlert's effort deep into added time.
Denmark seized the initiative in the section with a 4-0 defeat of Malta in their second fixture, when Austria could only draw 0-0 against Albania, meaning the goalless draw between the top two on matchday three was enough for the Scandinavian side to claim first place. Albania finished third thanks to a 4-0 win against Malta.
