Hosts Switzerland salvaged some positives in their final elite round Group 2 fixture, beating Montenegro 3-2 to end their UEFA European Under-19 Championship campaign on a high note.
Josip Drmić put the Swiss ahead, tidying up on the rebound after Remo Freuler's shot, and it was 2-0 inside 25 minutes, Freuler converting from Sauloi Decarli's defence-splitting pass. However, Switzerland paid for a lapse on 41 minutes, with Marko Vukčević winning the ball out by the right corner flag and crossing for Luka Djordjević to slide in.
Montenegro then levelled on 58 minutes, Milivoje Mrdak beating his man before putting a low shot past Raphael Spiegel, and they spurned good chances to take the lead in Yverdon. However, it was Drmić who made the difference for Switzerland with a splendid 74th-minute strike after eluding a defender, to give Claude Ryf's side their first Group 2 points and leave Montenegro with none.
