Having finished the UEFA European Under-19 Championship with a runners-up medal following the final defeat by France, Daniel Pacheco did at least have something to celebrate having finished as the competition's top scorer with four goals.
The Spain striker failed to find the net in the final, as he did in his first appearance of the tournament against Croatia, but burst into life with two goals against Portugal on Matchday 2, adding another against Italy and then opening the scoring against England in the semi-finals. Pacheco finishes with one goal more than Zvonko Pamić of Croatia, who scored a hat-trick in the remarkable 5-0 defeat of Portugal, and France pair Cédric Bakambu and Alexandre Lacazette – the latter having headed the late winner that earned his side the trophy.
A further five players finished on two goals, including two more France players in Antoine Griezmann and Gaël Kakuta. England's Frank Nouble, who opened the finals with a double against Austria, Croatia midfielder Franko Andrijašević and Rodrigo, Spain's final scorer, also managed two goals, while 21 players scored once each.
