Captain Ioannis Potouridis kept alive Greece's hopes of reaching the UEFA European Under-19 Championship with an added-time free-kick to deny Portugal victory.
Potouridis's deflected effort cancelled out an 83rd-minute strike from Amido Baldé which looked to have made it two Group 2 wins out of two for Ilídio Vale's side. Portugal were reduced to ten men moments after conceding when Adul was dismissed for violent conduct, ruling him out of their final group match against mini-tournament hosts Hungary on Saturday, when a win could still secure qualification for the final tournament.
The first chance of note in a match played in stormy weather in Telki did not arrive until the 55th minute, Sérgio Oliveira forcing Greece No1 Konstantinos Lamprou to turn away his 25-metre effort. Lamprou then readjusted to keep out Adul's deflected shot as well as denying Nélson Oliveira twice in quick succession before Adul burst down the right and pulled the ball back for Baldé to score. However, with Portugal seconds away from another victory, Potouridis sparked wild Greek celebrations on the touchline with his last-gasp set piece.
