Both players damaged the meniscus in their knees in Tuesday's opening goalless draw against Slovenia in Donetsk, defender Lyulka being replaced by Bohdan Butko after 15 minutes at the RSC Olympiyskiy Stadium. Midfielder Vitsenets' completed the match but following scans in a local hospital, the duo will now play no further part in the finals. In their place, FC Dynamo Kyiv defender Serhiy Loginov and midfielder Yevgeniy Shakhov, who plays his club football for FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, have been called into the squad.
