The Group 3 hosts missed out on a place in the UEFA European Under-19 Championships in Ukraine as Turkey turned the tables in their final fixture.

Dramatic success
Portugal needed just a point to confirm their place in the finals, to be held between 21 July and 2 August, but came to a sticky end at the Estádio Municipal do Cartaxo. In a game Ogün Temizkanoğlu's side had to win, Bursaspor striker Sercan Yıldırım opened the scoring after 42 minutes before Turkey captain Serkan Kurtuluş made it 2-0 with 23 minutes remaining. Werder Bremen's Onur Ayık and Hamburger SV forward Tunay Torun were on target in the closing stages as 2004 finalists Turkey sealed a return to the final tournament for the first time since 2006.
