Spain will bid for a third straight UEFA European Under-19 Championship title in July after sealing their qualification for the finals in Ukraine with a 3-0 win against Turkey.
Turkey chances
The victory gives Spain two wins from two in Elite Group 7 after their opening triumph against Ukraine, and their three-point gap over both their opponents mean they cannot be caught even if they lost to Armenia on Tuesday. However, Turkey had the better chances to take the lead in a first half played in very hot conditions and Spain goalkeeper David de Gea did well to save from Koray Kurt. Spain made the opposition pay for their profligacy after the break, opening the scoring just two minutes into the second half.
Second-half dominance
Daniel Parejo sent over a free-kick which was bundled home by Ignacio Camacho from close in and they almost doubled their lead shortly afterwards when firstly Emilio Nsue and then César Ortiz both found the crossbar with respective headers. They did get a second, though, not long after the hour mark following some fine work down the flank that ended with Ivan Bolado heading home. Camacho then got his second eight minutes from time to finish the scoring.
