Nothing to choose in Group 1

Lithuania 0-0 Hungary Group 1 could not be tighter after Hungary and Lithuania kept their hopes alive.

UEFA European Under-19 Championship second qualifying round Group 1 could not be tighter after Hungary were held by Lithuania.

Fine save
István Varga's Hungary had beaten the Netherlands 1-0 in their opening game, while Lithuania had played out a goalless draw against hosts Spain. Sarunas Kilijonas was on top form for Lithuania two days ago, and four minutes in he produced another fine save from Robert Peczesin.

Kovacs dismissed
Indeed, Kilijonas again performed superbly as Hungary dominated, and in the opening minute of the second half the goalkeeper was beaten only for Roland Dancs's shot to hit the post. Hungary played out the last four minutes with ten men after Janos Kovacs received his second booking, and a red card that means a suspension for Monday's crucial encounter with Spain.

Kilijonas forced off
There was more drama in added time when Kilijonas broke his nose after colliding with an opponent. Despite wanting to play on he was taken to hospital and Balazs Bergmann took over in goal as Lithuania had used up all three substitutes.

Final day calculations
With Spain eliminating the Dutch with a 1-0 victory earlier today, Hungary and the group hosts are dead level. A draw in their match on Monday would mean a penalty-shoot out unless Lithuania equal or better their goal difference and goals scored record in beating the Netherlands. If all three finish level at the top, lots will be drawn.
