Hungary moved into the early lead in UEFA European Under-19 second qualifying round Group 1 with a narrow victory against a Dutch team coached by Ruud Gullit.
Wisse denied
With hosts Spain having been held 0-0 earlier in at La Serratella Stadium, Hungary worked hard throughout the match, and although goalkeeper Szabolcs Kemenes had to deny the Netherlands' Arjan Wisse with an early save, the Dutch were behind on 22 minutes.
Dancs winner
Ronald Dancs was the scorer with a 15-metre shot that gave Dutch goalkeeper Theo Brack no chance. Brack then did well to save from Gergo Jeremias at the end of the first half, but although the Dutch did their upmost to equalise after the break, bringing on Arsenal FC's Quincy Owusu Abeyie on the hour mark, they could not get off the mark.
Saturday's games
The four Group 1 teams now travel to Burriana's San Fernando stadium for Saturday's games, with the Netherlands' match against Spain followed by Hungary's meeting with Lithuania. The group ends on Monday, with the winners progressing to July's final tournament in Switzerland.
