Two penalty saves
In Wednesday's 6-3 semi-final victory over Austria, Paulo Ribeiro excelled with two penalty saves, the first of which was described by Austria coach Paul Gludovatz as the game's pivotal moment, coming just before the break with the teams tied at 2-2.
'A matter of luck'
"Everybody was very happy because from a psychological point of view having a penalty is like scoring a goal," said Paulo Ribeiro. The 19-year-old from second division Vitória FC said it was the third time he had stopped two spot-kicks in a match but added: "I don't practise it. In those moments it is a matter of luck, and I had that luck."
False starts
Portugal came from two goals behind against Austria, having done the same to draw with Norway in their previous match. A similar start against Italy in Saturday's final would not be advisable, however. Paulo Ribeiro, who is third-choice goalkeeper at Vitória, admitted: "It will be difficult if they score twice. We've had to come back twice and don't want to have to suffer like that again."
Italian threat
On the 1-1 draw with Italy in the group stage, he said: "They were strong in the air. But there were a lot of elbows - Amoreirinha was struck in the mouth by an elbow but the referee didn't see it. I hope the referee watches these things in the final."
'A strong team'
Organista, meanwhile, said: "Italy are a strong team. They played very well against us. It's up to us to do the same things as against Austria, to keep the ball, keep it moving, and try and find a way through the Italian wall."
Powerful shot
A combative player, Organista scored Portugal's second goal against Austria. "I have a very strong shot and I must make the most of this," he said. "In the semi-final I had one good opportunity and I went for it and managed to score."
Ball winner
Organista is a youth-team player at FC Porto and comes from Caxinas, hometown of Portuguese international striker Hélder Postiga. Asked his strengths, he said: "I consider myself important to the team - one of my qualities is to be strong in midfield and win as many balls as possible in that area."
Memorable experience
He has represented Portugal at every level from Under-15 upwards and has had a memorable experience here in Liechtenstein. "Reaching the final and the goal I scored - these were important. Playing here has also helped to raise my confidence."
