Holders Spain handed Portugal challenge

Spain, who claimed their fifth UEFA European Under-19 Championship last season, will take on hosts Estonia, Portugal and Greece in Group A while England, France, Serbia and Croatia are in Group B.

Holders Spain will take on hosts Estonia, Portugal and Greece in the 11th UEFA European Under-19 Championship after the draw was held in Tallinn.

The five-time champions were placed in Group A at the draw at the Meriton Grand Conference & Spa Hotel was conducted by Jim Boyce, chairman of the UEFA Youth & Amateur Football Committee and Mart Poom, the former Estonian international who is the ambassador for the finals. Portugal will be Estonia's opposition on the opening day, 3 July, with the full schedule to be confirmed in the next few days.

Group B includes two-time champions France, last season's semi-finalists Serbia, England, runners-up in 2005 and 2009 and Croatia, who are in the finals for the second time having first qualified in 2010. 

The tournament kicks off on 3 July, with the four teams in each group playing each other once – the top three in each section progress to the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey. The winners of Group A and B play the runners-up of the opposite section in the semi-finals, with the final to be held at the Lilleküla Stadium in Tallinn on Sunday 15 July.
