Slovakia have claimed the 28th and last place on offer in the 2012/13 UEFA European Under-19 Championship elite round as the best third-placed team overall from the 12 qualifying round sections.
Slovakia lost out to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Norway in a three-way head to head at the top of Group 8, which finished on 16 October. Four other sections concluded after that date, but no team could better Slovakia's record against the top two, meaning they take their place in the 5 December draw in Nyon, Switzerland.
The 28 teams – the 25 qualifiers plus holders Spain, Serbia and Turkey, who all received a bye to the elite round by virtue of their coefficient ranking – will be divided into seven groups of four. The winners of each elite round section join hosts Lithuania in the final tournament between 20 July and 1 August 2013.
