The U17 finals draw has been made with holders the Netherlands in a group with France and England.

The UEFA European Under-17 Championship finals draw at Dublin Arena has split the 16 contenders into four groups of four for the tournament which runs from 3 to 19 May in the Republic of Ireland.

Group A: Republic of Ireland (hosts), Belgium, Czech Republic, Greece

Group B: Netherlands (holders), France, England, Sweden

Group C: Iceland, Portugal, Hungary, Russia

Group D: Spain, Italy, Germany, Austria

2018 tournament review
  • Hosts Ireland are joined by the sides that emerge from March's elite round
  • Belgium beat Ireland 2-0 in their group in last season's finals; both went through
  • The Netherlands beat hosts England on penalties in the 2018 semi-finals to avange their loss in the 2014 final; Sweden also got past the 2018 group stage
  • Portugal were in the same group as Hungary and Iceland at UEFA EURO 2016 and finished third before winning the trophy
  • Spain beat Germany 5-1 in their last group game in 2018 to make the last eight
  • The tournament will also decide Europe's five contenders for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil later in the year; England are the defending champions from 2017
