Welcome to Cyprus for the 2024 UEFA European Under-17 Championship finals!

We are thrilled that the Cyprus Football Association finally has the opportunity to host this prestigious tournament, initially scheduled for 2021. I want to express my gratitude to the association and its president, George Koumas, for their patience, tireless effort

and commitment to ensuring the successful organisation of this event.

The Under-17 EURO has historically served as a springboard for flourishing international careers, with notable examples including Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Cesc Fàbregas, Toni Kroos and Eden Hazard among others. I am confident that in 2024, we will witness the emergence of some new stars on the international stage.

Hosts Cyprus are joined by 15 skilled teams that have successfully navigated the qualifying rounds, all poised for the final push to claim the prestigious European trophy.

We are excited for Cyprus to be hosting the final phase of the UEFA Under-17 Championship 2024.

It is a big challenge for everyone at the Cyprus Football Association to successfully organise this tournament entrusted to us by UEFA and I am certain that we will succeed!

I welcome to Cyprus the delegations of the countries that will participate in this tournament, and I would like to wish them all the best for their matches and to enjoy their stay on our hospitable island.

As time passes, thanks to this tournament, players may eventually make their first senior appearances at international level and begin to write their stories in European football. We cannot wait to admire the talent on show, always keeping in mind that, at the end, one will be the winner.
