Ukraine have completed the 28-team UEFA European Under-17 Championship elite round lineup after being confirmed as the best third-placed finishers ahead of the draw on Thursday 28 November in Nyon.
The top two teams from each of the 13 qualifying round groups running over the last couple of months automatically gained spots in the next stage in March along with the nation with the highest cofficient, 2009 victors Germany, who received a bye.
Latvia and 2005 winners Turkey came through on Tuesday from the last qualifying section to conclude, Group 9, joining the likes of holders Russia, former champions Switzerland, Portugal, France, Spain, England and the Netherlands, plus 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup bronze medallists Sweden.
That left one spare slot for the third-placed side with the best record against the leading pair in their group. That was Ukraine, who finished behind Italy and Sweden in Group 2.
Seedings for the elite round draw will be established shortly, with the teams to be split into seven groups, for which hosts will be appointed for the mini-tournaments in March. The eventual section winners accompany hosts Malta into the finals from 9 to 21 May.
