The schedule for the UEFA European Under-17 Championship finals in Serbia has been announced with the opening day including a match-up between France and England, and Germany taking on the Netherlands.
Hosts Serbia were joined in Group A – to be played in Novi Sad and Indjija – by Denmark, France and holders England. Fixtures begin on 3 May with Serbia facing Denmark and England hoping to repeat their semi-final success against France of last year.
On the same day, Group B in Smederevo and Belgrade's FK Obilić Stadium starts with Germany and the Netherlands reprising their 2009 final rivalry, a game in which the Dutch took the hosts to extra time before losing 2-1. Romania will make their U17 finals debut against the Czech Republic, runners-up in 2006.
Further group matches are played on 6 and 9 May with the top two from each section progressing to the semi-finals three days later. The last-four fixtures, and the 15 May final, will be at Novi Sad's Karadjordje Stadium, and those three fixtures – like six of the group games – are being televised by Eurosport. The top three in each group qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Mexico.
