Four second-half goals gave Spain an ultimately comfortable win against hosts Northern Ireland in their UEFA European Under-17 Championship elite round Group 4 opener.

The game was level at the break thanks to Ross Glendinning in the Northern Ireland goal but three minutes after the interval Juanmi turned in Suso's corner. Paco Alcácer made it two with eleven minutes left and there was still time for both he and Juanmi to add another each. On Friday Spain face a potential group decider with Belgium, who beat Northern Ireland's next opponents Poland 2-0.
