Daniel Welbeck was England's hero as his goal two minutes from time took his team to the UEFA European Under-17 Championship finals at the expense of Serbia.
Own goal
Serbia had led Elite round Group 3 on goal difference at kick-off in Sarajevo, both teams having beaten Bosnia-Herzegovina and Azerbaijan. Needing a draw to reach the finals, Serbia held on until half-time but fell behind two minutes after the interval when Vujadin Savić turned in a Tristan Plummer cross for an own goal.
Welbeck winner
Goran Smiljanić equalised six minutes later and it seemed Serbia were heading for the final tournament for the second year running. But as the end neared Manchester United FC midfielder Welbeck nodded in Nathan Porritt's corner to take England to the U17 showpiece for the fifth time in six editions since the switch from U16 level.
