ENGLAND 1-2 SPAIN:
Juan Santisteban, Spain coach

"It was a very tough match, very well-balanced, very physical. We didn't have the same quality we showed in our group matches but we have to remember that we played against very good opponents too. I think that we deserved to win. The final will be our chance for revenge [for the 1-0 defeat in the group stage], but France have a great team; Samir Nasri, Jérémy Menez and Hatem Ben Arfa are excellent players. It will be a very even final, and luck will be very important. But I have no doubts it will be a good game."

John Peacock, England coach
"It was a very good match to watch, very tough and it was even tougher for the team to lose in the way they did. We came into the match slowly, and in the first half we had some good chances to score but we could not take them. Javier and Pedraza were very dangerous and we had to pay particular attention to them, and I think we did a good job of stopping them. I am very disappointed in the result, but I can assure you that next year we will be back. Portugal will be another important match, we know the team very well because we've already played them in the group stage. We have to beat them because the [UEFA-CAF] Meridian Cup is very important for us but Portugal are technically very good. I wish Spain the best of luck, and I think it will be a great final. For young players, it was disappointing to lose like that but they will grow up after this and learn for the future."

Diego, Spain
"I was nervous on the bench before I came on, as I saw that the situation was very complicated for the team. But as soon as I came on I relaxed a little and started to play my football. I knew that whoever scored a second goal had a great chance of winning. I think we deserved to go through and I hope that luck is on our side this year as it was against us last year. France are a very strong team, it will be a very good final and I hope that the best team win."

Jonathan, Spain
"When I was on the bench I was thinking about what I could do to help the team, and I thought that the team needed me, so when I was told to get ready I was very excited and ready to give everything to help the team. France will be the most difficult opponents possible for the final, they are very fast and are solid in defence but we know them quite well, so we have to defend well and see what happens. It is a good opportunity to pay them back for our defeat in the group phase."
